FAQ #2 after i burn my candle why is it not smooth but bumpy?
If you are burning a soy wax or coconut soy wax candle after it’s burned it’s common to have the top look bumpy and weird. There’s nothing wrong with the candle this is a natural and a clear indication that 100% soy wax is used in your candle and it doesn’t contain additives.
FAQ #3 What are those balls on the. top of my wick during and after a burn?
Those little balls on the top of your wick is called mushrooming. This is a carbon buildup that comes from a candle being burned for an extended period of time or if the wick takes in more wax than it can burn. Mushrooming is one of the reasons why trimming your wick is so important.
FAQ #4 What is Tunneling?
Tunneling can happen for a variety of reasons one of them is that the candle wasn’t burned for 4-hours when it was initially burned. After that is burned sporadically not give the candle the chance to get to a full burn. Another and often more common reason is the wick used for the candle is the wrong type. Because of this the candle will tunnel down the center of the candle.
FAQ #5 What are some alternate ways to scent my space?
If you live in an apartment, dorm or space where burning candles aren’t permitted or you have small children or pets think about trying wax melts as a candle alternative or reed diffusers. both will allow you to scent your space without worrying about an open flame. Room Sprays are also great but the scent may not last as long.
FAQ #6 Do candles expire?
A candle should be burned within a year of opening. A candle can be stored for a long time but it may loose it’s scent and if it has color that will fade.
